New publications in June and July

Several Lucentia research colleagues have recently published two articles within the framework of the BALLADEER and AETHER-UA projects Lucentia researchers have just had two publications published in June and July. Both articles, although different from each other, are part of the Balladeer and Aether-UA projects. The first paper, entitled "A Data-Driven Methodology for Guiding the Selection of Preprocessing Techniques in a Machine Learning Pipeline", was presented at the 35th International Conference on Advanced Information Systems Engineering. In this #paper, Jorge García, Alejandro Maté and Juan Carlos Trujillo, propose a novel #methodology for improving the selection of #preprocessing techniques, both from the point of view of the #MachineLearning model and the characteristics of the data. The second article, entitled "Feature engineering of EEG applied to mental disorders: a systematic mapping study", has been published in the scientific journal Applied Intelligence. Lucentia's director, Juan Carlos Trujillo, has been included in Research.com's renowned national and global ranking of the best researchers in Computer Science in 2023 Source: https://research.com/u/juan-trujillo Our director, Juan Carlos Trujillo, has recently been included in the #ranking of the best researchers in Computer Science carried out by Research.com, reaching the 109th position at national level and 7,605th position worldwide in the year 2023. As explained on their own website, this ranking makes use of different data sources for the classification of researchers, including OpenAlex and CrossRef. For this ninth edition of the ranking, the research activity of professionals based on bibliometric citations on 21 December 2022 has been analysed. Specifically, the key measure is the #H-index, which is based on publications and citation metrics of each researcher in order to classify them.

Quantum development in Artificial Intelligence

The University of Alicante and aQuantum agree on the creation of a research space for quantum development in Artificial Intelligence, formalised in two joint collaboration agreements Last Tuesday 21st February Lucentia Research was represented at the meeting of the University of Alicante and the company aQuantum Software Engineering, which had as purpose the formalization of the #collaboration agreement for the creation of a research space of #quantum development in #artificialintelligence. Trujillo among the province’s 10 most influential researchers

The latest list of the University of Granada highlights the presence of more than 50 researchers from Alicante Alicante is among the provinces with the highest number and excellence of experts in the latest list published by the University of Granada. In total, more than 50 researchers from this province appear on the list, placing it in eleventh place in terms of the quantity and quality of its researchers. Juan Carlos Trujillo climbs to the top position among Spain's best computer information systems researchers in the DIH ranking The #ranking of November 2022 of the DIH group has brought with it the leadership of Juan Carlos Trujillo. Elena Navarro meets with the Lucentia team

The UCLM professor met with the Lucentia team to establish the lines of action for the coming months within the Balladeer project On the 16th of November, we had the visit of Elena María Navarro Martínez from Lucentia Research Group. We received Navarro to agree on different points to be carried out within the research being developed in the #Balladeer project. Elena Navarro is Professor of Computer Science at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM). In addition, she is currently an active member of the LOUISE Research Group at the UCLM. Her current research interests are requirements engineering, software architecture, model-driven development and human-computer interaction. Specifically, he has more than 20 years of experience as a teacher in software engineering, with special focus on the application of .NET technologies for the development of cloud applications. We received the visit of Giancarlo and Renata Guizzardi, renowned researchers from the University of Twente, focusing on their respective lectures on semantics and ontologies Lucentia RG team on the visit of Renata and Giancarlo Guizzardi Last week, from 17th to 21st October, we received at Lucentia Research Group the visit of researchers Giancarlo Guizzardi and Renata Guizzardi, both from the University of Twente (The Netherlands). During this visit, we were able to have a talk from each of the experts on #semantics and #ontologies. Giancarlo Guizzardi is a full professor at the Digital Society Institute of the University of Twente (The Netherlands), where he heads the department of #semantics, services and cybersecurity. Prior to that, he was full professor of computer science and director of the Cognitive and Conceptual Modelling (CORE) research group at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, South Tyrol (Italy). Alicante Technology Forum 2022

Lucentia participates in the Alicante Technology Forum 2022 together with the University of Alicante and the Alicante Science Park showing the progress of the Balladeer project Lucentia RG team at the Alicante Technology Forum 2022 Last November 30th and December 1st and 2nd, different members of Lucentia could be part of the stand of the University of Alicante in the Alicante Technology Forum 2022. The #ATF2022 took place in different parts of the city of Alicante during the week of 29th November to 3rd December. This event aimed to put Alicante in the spotlight of technology thanks to the exhibitions of technological projects, conferences by technology experts, an international gaming championship, the ATF Battle Arena, and a festival of short films using mobile devices, the Alicante Smartphone Film Festival.
